End of voyage
Haul out for winter
Mon 18 Sep 06
A visit to the museum and a climb up the observation tower give us a good perspective of Parry Sound’s history. We return on a very windy day by the same route to Henry’s Fish and to Midland. Here we haul out the boat and arrange for an indoor storage for the winter, The entire trip was exiting for everyone and was over too soon, the owners Paul and Pierre Simard are looking forward to travelling to the North Channel next season, plus the return trip to Sorel through the Trent Severn and Rideau Canals where they will alternate on the section they visited and the ones they missed this year.
Have removed the injectors to be checked on the Starboad engine to be checked in Barrie and found two that needed attention. The Bay Port Marina will do some carpentry repairs under the forward cockpit sole, bottom paint and varnish some selected part of the boat in the spring. I will go visit the boat periodically in the spring to oversee the preparations for the forthcoming season. Hope you all have a pleasant winter. I am off to the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show near the end of October, then to Disneyworld. Thank you for being there for me on my birthday and through the journey. Perhaps we will do this blog idea again next year only will try to incorporate some photos. Au revoir
